Questions About Studying and Student Life in Münster
Hello everyone, I’m thinking about enrolling at Münster University for the winter semester 26/27 to study Human Movement in Sports and Exercise, and I have a few questions about student life in Münster. Btw I’m coming from abroad, but I hold a German passport. My German isn’t the best, which is why I’m writing this in English.
First of all, what are my chances of finding accommodation and how expensive is it? I’ve read in a few threads that the WG/dorm situation isn’t great at the moment. Is it even worth applying for a dorm, since I’ll probably be competing with other German students for a spot? How crowded is the housing market really, and what would be my best option? Also, should I already start applying now, or is there a specific application period for dorms?
Secondly, I wanted to ask about mini-jobs. I’ll definitely need one once I get there. Given that my German isn’t strong yet, how realistic is it to find a student job within the first couple of months? And on a related note, what are the typical monthly living expenses for a student in Münster (WG, food, healthcare, etc.)?
Lastly, I’d love to hear from anyone who is currently studying or has studied Human Movement in Sports and Exercise at Münster. If you or someone you know has experience with the program, I’d really appreciate any insights!
Thanks a lot in advance!
