Bank Demands they must send me a one cent check
I moved to a new state a year ago, and finally set up a new bank account with the local credit union here. I had transferred my old accounts with my prior bank to the new one and today, called the old bank to close the accounts.
All smooth, but I didn't realize there was still a whooping one cent left in the savings account. The bank demanded that to process the account closing, they would have to mail me a cashier's check for $0.01.
I tried repeatedly telling them that actually sending such an insignificant amount of money through the mail was wasteful and they refused to negate the amount, demanding to send this check.
Seems like such a ridiculous waste of resources (the paper it's printed on primarily), but there's nothing I could do.
Not the end of the world, but ridiculously annoying.
