I might have to leave my toddler for a few days and I'm going insane

❤ Separation ❤

Hi everyone. I just need to vent a bit and let my thoughts flow, so I hope you'll bear with me.

I've been sick for the past one and a half months, and I finally have a surgery scheduled next week to check out what's wrong.

My issue is, it's possible that I'll have to stay there for some days for them to watch my recovery. I can't do this, from a psychological standpoint mainly. My 22 month old daughter has always been by my side, 24/7, as I'm a single mother with barely any help. She still needs to be nursed to sleep and has to be glued to my side to sleep, otherwise that won't happen. She's unable to fall asleep with anyone else or anywhere else. And now knowing that I might have to stay away for a bit and have her grandfather watch over her, it makes me go crazy.

I trust my father and my daughter loves him, but the sleeping situation worries me to no end. I'm scared she's going to sit at home, screaming her lungs out (which she tends to do when things don't go her way) for her mommy to come back. The thought of it alone makes me cry already. I don't want her to be sad or afraid that I'm gone and I don't know how to handle these feelings right now.

Did anyone else go through something similar? Or any ideas what I could do to try and handle these feelings?
