How much does it matter if I split lifting and cardio in one day?

So I typically go to the gym right after work, as that is what works best for my schedule/energy levels/motivation. It gets so busy after work, but I never had a problem getting a machine since I’ve always just done cardio.

However, I added weight lifting over the past month and it’s harder to get a machine after work. I work from home most days and am able to walk to my gym. I was thinking of just going during my lunch to get my (around 30mins) of lifting done, and then returning afterwards for cardio (40 mins, treadmill 12/40/3.)

I ask because I just went to the gym over lunch and did about 30 mins. While my muscles def feel like they just lifted some heavy stuff, I don’t feel that all around body burn the way I do after I’ve done my full on workout with cardio added.

Would splitting the workout this way impede on progress in any way?

(I know it matters what your goals are, so for reference I’m 37F, 5’8.5”, 140lbs. I’m looking to lose a few pounds of fat and add a few pounds of muscle. Nothing crazy. Just want to be stronger and more fit.)
