Jailbreak subscription?

So I’m looking to get rid of my streaming media accounts for a jailbroken account, save money plus NFL is starting soon so I can’t watch my favorite team in it since I don’t live in the area that streams them, I know I can use websites to get them but they’re always buggy or really low resolution, I’ve tried them all, my friend has a “jailbroken” account and pays a subscription a every month to have everything, in to what he says “HD” my question is should I do it too? Or should I just jailbreak myself? What are the pros and cons of doing it myself or paying a subscription to someone for a “jailbroken” account? I know my way around a computer to jailbreak onlyproblem is I don’t own a computer to do it myself,, so I know I’d be able to jailbreak it myself I just want to know which is more recommended to avoid the hassle of buying a stick (since I already own a smart tv with firetv) also to avoid having to go to a friends house with a computer
