I don’t like the term “AI hallucination”

Other

I guess it’s a bit personal for me as a human that’s had hallucinations before, but it really just seems inaccurate. It feels like it’s humanizing AI. So I complained to my AI, and it of course agreed with me, and came up with these alternatives.

• Fabrication – emphasizes that the AI generated something not grounded in fact. • Error – the simplest, neutral term. • Misinformation – when the output is inaccurate. • Invention – highlights that the AI made something up. • Fictional output – if you want a clearer contrast with factual output. • Confabulation – borrowed from psychology, but closer in meaning (filling gaps with plausible-sounding but false details).
