Ever been sued because of an EE? [CA]

I'm in CA but anyone can answer....

My company just got served with a summons because someone is suing us because of a car accident one of our ex employees got into last year while she was on the job. Lucky me I get to handle this ("it's related to WC and you manage our WC!")

Anyone ever dealt with this before? I'm mainly trying to figure out what kind of attorney to look for, as well as any insight into what, if anything, our insurance covers. I have reached out to our GL and WC broker, waiting on their call, and just looking for any real life experiences any other HR folks might have had.

EE was on a WC case and off work for a couple of weeks because of this but that was closed out last year.
