MetLife Legal Plan Reviews in 2025: Is it worth it?
During open enrollment last year, I skipped over the prepaid legal option my employer offers through MetLife because I didn’t think I’d need it. But now I’m in the middle of figuring out how to set up a will and possibly a trust, and suddenly that benefit looks a lot more tempting. When I called around to a couple of local attorneys just to get an idea, the quotes for estate planning alone were way higher than I expected. I’m wondering if it would make more sense to wait until the next enrollment period and add the MetLife legal plan instead of hiring someone out-of-pocket. It sounds like it could cover the basics and save money, but I don’t know if the quality of service is the same as going directly to a lawyer on my own. Has anyone here actually used MetLife’s plan for things like wills, trusts, or estate planning? Did you feel like it was worth it, or did you still end up paying extra to get everything done properly?
