i just fought against a bot with using china as a faction in red alert and have no idea how thats even possible. can anyone explain?

as the title states i fought against china in red alert in openra but i have no idea how that is happening. i just joined a random mp game where the host made it 2v2v1 with me and the other player having a bot teamate and he got china as a ally. its kinda frustrating to get surprised like this as its not a option in the menus. the bot was using flame tanks and mammoths that could be upgraded with a extra gun by having infantry go in it. i cant find any info about this. please help.
