Non resident or Resident when going EXEMPT

Getting a nice paycheck from work in a week or two and went “Exempt” but selected “non resident citizen” when I filled out the tax form to send to my HR. Im going back off exempt after I receive this check and doing it one more time in January. First time doing it since ive been with my department did I select the right one? Thank you
