Going from pill to hormonal iud and Endo
Been on the pill since 14, tried A LOT of different kinds currently making me on the combo pill. I have suspected endometriosis, and although the pill has helped a little for example my periods are slightly lighter and the pain is ok, I'm still having troubles. My periods are regular which is great but for the first 3-4 days I am EXTREMELY heavy with bleeding, I am cramping being sick passing out and experiencing diarrhea or constipation. Now before the pill I experienced it lots however now it's just the first days of my period. But also before and after my period does come I'm experiencing those symptoms too. I usually consistently take the pill for 3 months and then have a break, as I simply couldn't put up with the pain every month. I also sometimes take my pill maybe 2 hours behind. Which technically is still in the 12 hour window although it's recommended for the same time every day. And, i travel a lot and different time zones and taking the pill can be very hard. I do like to experience a bleed once in a while as it just gives me that woman like feeling, but I do wish it was do able such as lighter bleeding, and less of the Endo symptoms. This is why I thought the hormonal iud could be a good go to, as apparently it really helps manage endometriosis. When I am 17, in a couple months I plan to become sexually active with my boyfriend of 2 years so I will be taking that into consideration too as I know iuds can be more effective at preventing pregnancy, which is something I would also want. Can anyone share what their thoughts are on this? Does the hormonal iud seem more beneficial than the pill for me?
