how to know if you have parts?

Question

i was recently told by my therapist that she’s sure i have complex ptsd, which explains a lot, and i’ve been processing a lot of trauma lately. i’ve heard about parts in complex ptsd but it’s hard to find information on it, especially regarding telling whether you have them in the first place and what they can feel like.

i’m sure that i don’t have a dissociative disorder, and i don’t frequently dissociate as far as i’m aware. i don’t really feel like there are other people in my head, or ever feel like a different person, but i feel like there are parts of me that feel separate from each other, in my head and noticeably in real life, and don’t mesh or blend into the whole of me, if that makes sense? kind of like… sectioned off versions of me. like separations for (simplifying to be concise) anger, self hatred, feeling like my younger self, my “self” i am when i have to cope with my current toxic living situation, or even hopefulness/happiness. sometimes these separate feelings have their own “aesthetics” in my head but that aspect usually feels somewhat more integrated into my whole self.

i don’t think they feel like different people with wills of their own, my interests and opinions on things usually stay consistent, but idk processing this stuff is still all new to me, i feel like my understanding of my life & myself has been changing week by week.

does that sound like “parts” in complex ptsd? is it just a normal sense of fragmented self? or is it actually normal to feel like that?
