Are closing costs negotiable/flexible?

Location: Pennsylvania

What should I be doing to ensure I’m minimizing closing costs where I can? What are the main sources of regret in this area or what would you do differently to save more money here?

In our state they can be up to 6% of the home purchase price, but I’m trying to get a better grasp on what affects this cost the most.
