Need a new approach for Step 1, plz help
So I've been studying pretty much dedicated since like 2 months ago. I actually started at the beginning of this year, but had some family health emergencies that took me literally 2-3 months to manage, which is why I came to my parents' place in Colombia (I live in Venezuela) to get away from family and focus on my goals.
Using FA+B&B. Started doing UWorld early (a month ago) to get a hang of the questions, and use the qbank as a study material as well. But I'm going so slow... I don't know if I'm just a slow learner or if I'm not upping my game as I should.
My approach/strategy so far is: read FA pages on B&B video I'm gonna watch; watch B&B video following along with FA for integration; answer B&B questions on that video; review questions I got wrong (I do this for 2-5 B&B videos a day aprox, depending on length and understanding of topic); answer 25-40 questions on uworld untutored untimed (random), review Uworld block taking notes in notion on wrongs; repeat. If I'm still not understanding something after B&B video, I watch Osmosis.
I wanted to take Step in October, but I'm only 40% B&B (Micro/infectious disease, Repro, Genetic, Biochem, Basic Pharm, Path, Cell Bio, Immuno, and currently on MSK) and scoring 35-50% in Uworld random blocks (doing random even though I haven't reviewed the material because I thought, well, I'm studying ahead ?). I've completed 10% of UWorld, it takes like 4 hours to review a block. Was doing Zanki but spent more time reviewing flashcards than actually studying, so I let that go. I haven't taken any NBME bc I feel like it's a waste of an exam when I'm clearly not ready for it.
I suffer from hypersomnia, so I need a couple of naps (yes, more than 1) a day or else I don't function properly (this is for context, and maybe someone else can relate and has some tips as well🙃). I feel like the topics I've studied so far, I'm 70-80% confident I know them. I'm super frustrated, I have until Nov 30th to take Step. Any suggestions on a new approach? Help
