Solana charts show megaphone + cup & handle — $330 key breakout level, OI at ATH

Ecosystem

sol just hit $210 and the technicals are looking wild. we've got a megaphone pattern on the weekly that could actually take us to four digits if we break out properly.

the technical setup

there's a megaphone pattern (broadening wedge) forming on the weekly chart. these patterns usually resolve with explosive moves when they break out. the key level is around $330 - if we break and hold above that, the measured move goes to $1,057. that's about 400% from current levels.

also seeing a cup and handle pattern that's already broken out. the neckline is at $250 and if we clear that, fibonacci extensions suggest we could hit $1,030.

current resistance levels:

$210-$250 range (this is the make or break zone)

$330 (megaphone breakout level)

rsi has been climbing from 49 to 61 since august, so momentum is building.

derivatives going crazy

solana's open interest just hit an all time high of $13.68 billion. that's massive speculative interest in the futures markets.

historically when oi spikes like this, big moves follow. we saw this between april and july when a 188% oi increase preceded a 103% sol price pump.

the fact that we're seeing oi surge while price is climbing 17% is usually a good sign for continuation.

alpenglow upgrade catalyst

the alpenglow upgrade just passed with 98.27% support. this cuts transaction finality from 12.8 seconds down to 150ms and boosts throughput to 107,540 tps.

this makes solana way more competitive against ethereum and could drive institutional adoption.

the concerning data

here's where it gets interesting though - onchain activity is actually declining. transaction count dropped 99% over the past 30 days. active addresses fell 22%. dex volumes down 65% to $10.6 billion.

meanwhile ethereum transactions increased 39% in the same period.

so we've got this weird situation where the charts look incredible and derivatives interest is at ath, but actual network usage is dropping.

my take

the technical setup is genuinely impressive. $1000 target isn't just hopium - there's actual chart patterns supporting it. the open interest surge suggests smart money is positioning for a big move.

but the declining onchain activity is concerning. it could be temporary or it could signal that the recent pump was more speculation than real adoption.

key levels to watch:

break above $250 confirms the cup and handle

break above $330 triggers the megaphone target

if we lose $160 the whole setup gets invalidated

what do you think? are we looking at a technical breakout to $1000 or is the declining network activity a red flag that this is just derivatives speculation?

not financial advice, just sharing what i'm seeing in the charts and data.
