Will travel guard insurance companies cover date changes?

I have to switch my flight date, and I booked basic economy (the 3rd tier of United’s economy seating), but it’s making me choose the 2nd or 1st tiers whenever I change dates.

My flight there and my return flight are both charging me a 100 dollar upcharge because I’m switching from basic economy to a higher economy tier

Would travel guard insurance cover that? Or is it best to cancel the whole trip and just rebook from scratch
