2 snapped rosary beads during sleep on the same night

So me and my brother had a hard night of doing a cocktail of alcohol and other drugs and we both fell asleep with our rosary beads around our necks (as they always were) they were bought from St.peters basilica in the Vatican when I visited Rome. During our attempts to sleep we both complained of a coldness in the room which wasn't natural in comparison to the other nights and an overwhelming sense of hyper awareness. We shrugged it off and fell asleep. We both woke up to our rosary beads snapped around our necks, still on our bodies. Can anyone explain or has had any similar experiences where a symbol of religion has been destroyed unexplainably?
