Beyond Depth help please

I really like mods that up the difficulty for Minecraft but zombies mining my house and villager houses when I turned of mobgriefing (I prefer having it on but I tried disabling it to see if it stopped it) I want to play with friends and we started and I know some of them won't play with this feature, is there any way to turn it off?
