Texas resident needs advice on a speeding ticket in Pocola (LeFlore County)
Hey everyone,
I'm from Texas and got a speeding ticket in Pocola (58 in a 40). It's my first ticket.
I can't make the court date (Oct 21st) and I'm struggling to find a lawyer for that area.
I called the municipal court, and the clerk told me if I just pay the fine, it won't be reported to the state or affect my insurance. They made it sound like it's handled completely locally.
Is this legit? Is this a common thing in smaller Oklahoma towns? I don't want to just pay it and then have it show up on my Texas driving record later.
Should I trust the clerk's advice or keep trying to find a lawyer?
Thanks for any help!
