I have no idea what to do
I've recently failed an exam which could delay my future prospects by a year.
I enrolled in a uni course for 2 years back in 2023. I didn't attend first year (23/24) because I was pursuing business and wanted to help my family. Looking back it was really bad mistake on my part.
Every assignment was graded as non submission as a result, and the university automatically gave me a chance to redo year 1 again in 24/25.
My family believe that I'm still on track, that I've completed year 2, but that's not the case.
I completed semester 1 and semester 2, passed every module except an exam module. A topic was omitted from the exam and I wasn't informed. Now I'm waiting on my progression results, waiting to see if they'll allow me to progress or if I have to repeat the whole year again for a single module.
My family believe that I'm well on track to year 3, and that I'll graduate in 2026. Mostly because I've told them so. I didn't want to tell them the truth because it would be too painful for them
I am considering to apply to a different university, but I doubt they'd accept me since I don't meet the credit threshold required to join from year 2 onwards. (you need 120, I have 105)
I'll still be delayed 2 years now, because I failed one module. I'm not even sure if they'll allow me to progress or not.
I know I was wrong to not go university for the first year, but it's in the past now and there's nothing I can go back to change that. I need to know what I can do now.
