Advice Needed
46m and married to 46f
I currently have 700k in my 401k and it’s managed by Voya via my company.
My wife has 1.4m in her 401k through Fidelity and it’s self managed (likely not well). She has 650k of that in one stock and I’m thinking of moving that to reduce risk. (SHW) i’m not sure of the tax benefits of keeping the long-term SHW stock over selling it and putting it in less risky stock such as the S&P 500.
Should I move hers to managed by Fidelity, which is where all of her 401k is through her company like I do for mine and have both managed by Voya and fidelity.
Or should I work with some sort of financial advisor outside of both on how to handle them. I do need to do better to get more money outside of the traditional 401k I believe.
We also have around 400k of our 600k house paid off.
Would like to retire between 55 and 59.
