Some people really need to chill
I see it again and again. People restrict themselves far too much in their lives because they want to lose a little weight. It goes so far that they sometimes don't enjoy vacations for which they save up for a whole year because they continue to track their calories down to the gram every day. People really... chill out a little.
Nothing will happen if you treat yourself to a little more or unhealthier food on vacation. Most of what you will "gain" on the scales is water. Don't let that drive you crazy. Sure, you might put on a little fat, but who cares? Let's say you've lost 15 kg in 3-4 months, then go on vacation and end up with 2-4 kg more on the scales. Most of it is water and is quickly lost again. The rest will come off as soon as you start eating healthy again. What's the point of restricting yourself so drastically? When you reach your target weight, do you want to give up all kinds of good food for the rest of your life and preferably lock yourself up at home and never eat outside again?
I can already see it in my circle of friends. People are so sick of counting calories that they forget to simply enjoy life. Literally nothing will happen if you stop counting calories for a few days...
I've noticed it myself in the past. When I got too involved in counting calories, it drove me crazy at some point and I ended up gaining it all back. Now I've been losing weight for months without counting calories, but simply eating healthily. I've lost just under 15 kg and allow myself to eat a little more every few days when I feel like it. On vacation I ate what I wanted and what happened? Nothing. Nothing at all. I weighed 1-2 kg more on the scales, but when I ate very few carbs the next day, exactly those kilos were gone again because most of it was just water.
TL;DR: People get too involved in the whole calorie counting thing and later wonder why they are not feeling well mentally and then gain weight again through binge eating... Just chill out a bit and enjoy life from time to time
