I 30F have been talking to a guy 23M for 4 months and he just told me where not in a relationship yet. Shou I end it?
I 'F/30' have been talking to a guy a guy 'M/24' that I met through a friend for 4 months now. And he has still yet to define if we're actually in a relationship. Let me give you a little backstory. I separated from my husband several months ago (we also have three children together) and I did not think that I wanted to be with anybody for a long time, but as I would call it impeccable timing, I met this guy through one of my best friends and we had an instant connection that l've never felt before in any of my relationships, even my own marriage.. We connected so well. My biggest concern was his age because of how immature he might be, but he actually surprised me and is probably more mature than most of the older men l've met. He has an amazing job, a college degree, and goals for himself that I admire. He knew I had children and my friend told him a lot about me and he still wanted to pursue me and talk to me. But at the beginning of us talking, we set clear boundaries and he stated that he has always taken things slow in his relationships and does not like to rush into anything. Especially since I have children, he has a lot to think about before he fully commits and at the time I agreed to completely because we had just started talking and we were only about a month in. But now fast-forward three months later, the other night we were laying in bed and earlier that day he had said something that made me feel uneasy, so l asked him to be straight up with me and tell me if we are in a relationship or not. He stated that we are not in a relationship because he has not asked me to be in one technically. Those were his exact words. He has continuously stated that he cares about me and that he really likes me, but he still does not know if he wants to be in a serious relationship with me. Which I believe 4 months is well enough time to know if you want to be with a person. The most confusing part is that he constantly breaks his own rules for me. He has introduced me to all of his friends and co workers. He takes me out on dates, he has met my children and is very good with them. He asks how they are everyday. We go out on dates all the time and we spend ALOT of time together. When he talks about the future, he also says we and not I. He has stated multiple times he wants a big family. And, at the beginning of us talking, he stated that it would be a long time before l ever even met his parents, if that even happened, but this past weekend, I met his parents. But the thing about meeting his parents, is that he told his mom that I was 26 years old. He also did not tell his parents that I have children or that I was previously married. That also made me feel very uneasy and uncomfortable, because it seems like he is ashamed of me. I've asked him to please tell them, but I also do not want to rush him. My marriage was forced loved and I want my next relationship to happen naturally. I want him to want me fully. But sometimes I feel like he only wants the part of me that doesn't have kids. And I have to admit, I have fallen for this guy... completely. I would like a male perspective and a female perspective of how it should play out.
