AIO, date said I DON’T have to lose weight?
I (F34) have been seeing a guy (M41) for about 4 months now. He’s wonderful in so many ways, attentive, fun and supportive. Also he is quite “out of my league” in terms of fitness level and body shape. English is not his first language, and on the odd occasion, he’s said things and I’m not sure he “gets” how it sounds.
Last night he’d had a couple drinks, and said to me “You don’t need to lose weight for me, I think you’re perfect”.
This is a touchy topic for me, since I have lost 30kg (66 pounds) over the last couple years. He doesn’t know this. I’m the lightest I’ve been since high school and he hasn’t seen old pictures of me - so he probably just thinks I’m a bit chubby and was trying to say I shouldn’t feel bad about being chubby.
He usually dates yoga instructors…and although I have been told I am beautiful by many people in my life, I am still chubby.
I have also told him I’d like to lose 5-10 more kilos, so he knows it is something I am working on. I think I’m probably over-reacting, I think he was trying to be kind…but now I just feel shit about myself when prior to this comment I thought I finally looked so good 🙃
