Use 16:10 Resolutions (Stretched) on a 16:9 Monitor in Marvel Rivals (NVIDIA Only)
So after spending way too much time messing with Marvel Rivals’ configs and my GPU settings, I finally figured out how to get proper 16:10 stretched resolutions running on a standard 16:9 monitor. Since the game only supports 16:9 and 16:10 natively (no 4:3 or other aspect ratios), this method saves you from wasting hours on trial and error like I did.
This guide is for anyone who wants to run WQXGA (2560×1600) or any other 16:10 standard/non-standard resolution stretched on their 16:9 monitor, Before Proceeding make sure you in-game display mode is set to Fullscreen.
Why 16:10 over 16:9?
- 16:10 has ~5.2% more vertical screen area compared to 16:9 at the same diagonal size.
- It feels less cramped and gives you more visibility (especially in vertical FOV).
- If you like the stretched look (similar to competitive players using 4:3 in shooters), this is the closest thing you can do in Marvel Rivals without breaking the game.

Some standard ones you can try: Wikipedia: 16:10 aspect ratio
- 1280×800 (WXGA)
- 1680×1050 (WSXGA+)
- 1920×1200 (WUXGA)
- 2560×1600 (WQXGA – perfect for 2K)
- 3840×2400 (WQUXGA – 4K)
- 7680×4800 (WHUXGA – 8K)
Step 1: Enable DSR/DLDSR in Nvidia Control Panel
- Open Nvidia Control Panel → Manage 3D Settings.
- Under DSR Factors, enable both DSR and DLDSR scaling factors.
- Set DSR Smoothness to 50%. (Anything else will oversharpen/blur the image.)
This allows you to use higher-than-native resolutions even if your monitor doesn’t officially support them.
Step 2: Adjust Desktop Scaling
- Go to Adjust Desktop Size and Position.
- Set Scaling Mode → Full-Screen.
- Check Override the scaling mode set by games and programs.
- Set Perform Scaling On → GPU.
Now your GPU will handle the stretch instead of your display.
Step 3: Edit Marvel Rivals Config
By default, Marvel Rivals only lets you pick 16:9 in-game. But we can force 16:10 through the config file.
- Navigate to:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Marvel\Saved\Config\Windows\GameUserSettings.ini
- Find every entry that mentions : ResolutionSizeX, ResolutionSizeY, LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX, LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY, DesiredScreenWidth, DesiredScreenHeight, LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenWidth, LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenHeight).
- Change them all to your chosen 16:10 resolution. Example:
ResolutionSizeX=2560
ResolutionSizeY=1600
LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX=2560
LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY=1600
DesiredScreenWidth=2560
DesiredScreenHeight=1600
LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenWidth=2560
LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenHeight=1600
- Save the file. Run the game
(Optional) → Right-click the file → Properties → set Read-only if you never want the game to overwrite your settings.
Notes:
- Use DSR/DLDSR for higher resolutions even if your monitor doesn’t support them.
- Stick to standard 16:10 resolutions for best compatibility.
- Marvel Rivals only supports 16:9 and 16:10 (no 4:3 etc.), so this method is future-proof.
- It doesn’t matter which 16:10 resolution you use the stretch effect will always look the same. Lower resolutions only reduce clarity, not screen area or stretch.
- You can also create a custom 16:10 resolution if you don’t have DSR factors, but I haven’t tested this, so you’ll need to troubleshoot it on your own.
- After the new update, the game might not display your custom resolution in the settings, but it will still be applied so don’t panic.
