My (27f) partner (32m) often just observes/stares at me, is this common behaviour?
My (27f) partner (32m) often just sits and looks at me. We’ve been together for four years, and we live together (for 2 years now). When I mean observe I truly mean he is not doing anything else, he just watches me. When I change clothes he just walks in to watch. But also when I’m just reading or watching tv, he sometimes just looks (stares) at me.
Just now, I was speaking on the phone with my mother, walking around the living room for twenty minutes. And he just sits on the couch and looks at me. Observing me. I was talking about washing windows, nothing interesting, and often gave him that look of ‘why are you just staring at me?’.
He is someone who really lives in the moment, and he says that I’m beautiful, and he likes to just look at me. But gods, it makes me nervous and uncomfortable! He knows this, but he keeps saying it’s not weird. That it is perfectly normal. I, on the other hand, never just observe him like that, and I just wonder, after four years, is this that common? I know it’s sweet in a way, but it bothers me.
Sometimes he feels like my cat, who just follows me around the house.
I’ve started dressing quickly because I am sick of being stared at all the time. I do feel guilty that it bothers me. Looking for some insight from other people.
TL;DR: my partner often just stares at me and it makes me uncomfortable. He says it’s normal, but I want some opinions on this.
