Would adding a spring or flexible cable shaft to the core of a woven sling further amplify it’s force and accuracy?

Similar to the spring steel shaft of the blackjack or slapjack just a much smaller spring coil or cable. I’ve noticed that the reason why I can only buzz or graze a target is because I let go too late and there’s a slight delay in the sling snapping open at the target on release so I hypothesized that maybe adding a flexible spring shaft through the middle and pouch of a woven or braided sling that would loosely keep the sling open but also flex with the G-force of the projectile and help eject the projectile from the pouch as it snaps the pouch open from point of release. Would it work?
