1980s androgenous looks for women - did you wear them?

I saw this post elsewhere and thought others in the Generation Jones community might enjoy the trip down memory lane like I did. I was at university and starting my career in the 1980s and I definitely wore outfits similar to pics 3, 5 and 9, and I had the shorter haircut in pic 5. I couldn't afford Armani of course, but achieved these looks by scouring the men's section of charity shops for good quality shirts and coats (I wore a man's big shouldered coat from Abercrombie & Fitch for years until it started to fray), then combining them with tapered trousers and heels from high street women wear shops.

It's funny to think now that women were exploring power dressing with flavours of traditional menswear tailoring at the same time as menswear was influenced by New Romantic looks. Oh, the 80s, I am so glad that I experienced that mad, colourful and musical decade!
