Accidentally cracked my boss's phone screen before asking for a raise.

I think it goes without saying that I held off on asking for that raise today. I (24M) am a team lead in charge of inventory at a new boba shop. I was counting inventory today in a small, cramped storage room in a crouched position. when i stood up straight, my back bumped the unfolded top of an open cardboard box that was sticking out from a shelf, shoving it directly into my boss's iphone and knocking it a good 5 feet onto the ground, screen first.

the crack made an impressive work of art across the bottom half of the screen resembling a lightning bolt, starting from a single point on the right side and branching out into several long cracks toward the left.

in the 30 seconds that followed, i repeatedly went through all of the five stages of grief at light speed over and over until i decided to immediately tell him what i'd done and offer to pay for it. he declined and was pretty chill about it saying, "it happens." like, he couldn't have possibly been any nicer about it which made me feel even worse... kinda wish he just beat the shit out of me right then and there.

i'm pretty embarrassed about this, and the timing is quite awful. i thought about buying him a meal or a gift of some kind as an apology, but i'm worried that might come off as annoying to him after what i did.

how long should i wait now until asking for that raise? he is a middle aged married taiwanese dad.
