Why do I not like being around my parents?
For ages now I've felt uncomfort around ly parents on and off. Its not all the time, I still love them so much and like to be around them sometimes. But more then less times I get really agitated around them. Especially my mother.
I'm neurodivergent (Diagnosed adhd inherited from my father and most like autistic too) and ive struggled a lot on and off over the years. Im really sensitive to overwhelm and will crash out if something is too much for me. Its been a stressful few years for us and my parents have been bickering a lot lately. So I know I dont like being around them then. But I mean just in general, the times where it isn't rare and comfortable and peaceful where everyone is in a good mood.
I really find that on the days my parents are working or out or busy, and its just me home alone (or just me and my little sister home alone), I THRIVE. Im so much happier, im so productive and I get shit done. Yesterday it was just me and my sister for most of the day, and i had showered, got up, seen friends, i got her (my lazy bones stubborn sister) and me out for a 10k walk, i baked cakes, cooked dinner for all of us, got groceries from the shops and cleaned up the kitchen. (Im not sure if this is a lot for the average person, but for me this is a LOT since i suffer from pretty bad depression and low energy.) Anyways, I was really productive and felt great.
But when i soend the day with my parents, its never that good. My motivation is low, im not productive, im less happy, there's definitely atleast an argument or two, and someone ends up in a bad mood.
Im only 17 but for years ive felt the desperate need to move out and live alone. I know there's a lot of tension in our family, but we are still loving and happy, well off and comfortable, they spoil me and I love them a lot, so why do I not like being around them so much?? I thought maybe it was an introvert thing, im totally fine being with my little sister all day.
I really need some advice on why this is the way it is, and how I should deal with this.
