Here is the link to my previous post: [Tattooing over Self Harm Scars](https://www.reddit.com/r/tattoo/comments/1dt1gft/tattooing_over_selfharm_scars/)

Hello everyone,

After publishing a post here one year ago asking for advice about tattooing over my self-harm scars, I would like to present you with the final results

I thought more than 10 years about covering my scars with an extensive tattoo but was so hesistant because I never thought that a tattoo could cover up scars so well and I was afraid that I would look bad with an extensive tattoo.

I think Slava covered the scars excellently. Most of the scars were on my forearm and the structure of the peony is precisely tailored to cover them. :)

Now I experience an indescribable feeling of freedom to be in a T-shirt without obsessive thoughts or tension that someone could see the scars and even talk to me about them (which has happened to me from time to time). It is the first summer I enjoy after so many years. Finally, I can close this chapter.

I would like to thank everyone who responded to my post last year. I was overwhelmed by the many kind replies and sympathy.

A Redditor recommended that I consult a dermatologist to see if the raised scars could be flattened so that the tattoo result could be better. I went to the doctor. The doctor said that the time and money involved would be disproportionate to my many scars. I could possibly have individual scars treated, but he thinks that the tattoo will cover them well.
