I see the undeserving being handed what I’m still praying for. Then I remember: Allah never forgets the sincere
This life may test us with empty hands so our hearts can be full in the next.
I hope I won’t be judged for sharing this thought, but lately I’ve been observing something that truly makes me pause. I often see people who are not particularly decent in their conduct, who have a complicated past, who’ve wronged others or crossed clear limits, end up receiving things in life that many calm, well-mannered, practising people are still praying for, even good, loyal partners. I’ve seen girls who have cheated or been openly involved in things Islam forbids end up with men who are far better than them, who treat them well and appear more decent and sincere.
Sometimes I wonder about this. And then I remind myself: Allah knows what we do not. This world is not the measure of ultimate fairness or reward. What we see as “blessings” here might be a test, and what we see as “delays” or “loss” might be a form of protection or a higher station waiting for us in the hereafter. Maybe it really is a test for those who strive to be more practising and principled, a test of patience, of faith, of trusting Allah’s timing over our own. The sincere are never overlooked their reward is just being prepared in silence.
It’s hard, but I keep reminding myself: Allah is the best of planners. He does not forget the sincere, even if the dunya overlooks them. If we hold onto patience and keep our trust in Him, perhaps our true reward will be far greater than we can imagine, in this world or, more importantly, in the next. May Allah make life easier for us, keep our hearts steadfast, and grant us patience and contentment through every trial.
