AITA for refusing to split the bill evenly when I ordered less?

Last night I went out with a group of coworkers for dinner. Most of them ordered appetizers, cocktails, and desserts. I just got a main dish and water because I’m trying to save money. When the check came, someone suggested splitting it evenly. I said I’d rather just pay for my part since I didn’t order nearly as much. A couple of them rolled their eyes and said I was being “cheap” and ruining the mood. I felt awkward but stuck to paying only my share. Now I’m wondering if I came off as rude or selfish. AITA?
