Clanged the bell- radiation completed.

Diagnosed Patient or Survivor Support

DCIS grade 2.

Hello all - I rang the bell yesterday as I completed the last of 16 radiation sessions. Overall, it wasn’t too overwhelming and I had plenty of wonderful rad therapists. Today, I’m slightly tanned on the right breast with a bit of a tender nipple. I was told to continue to keep up a bit of exercise. hydrate, moisturize the skin, eat well, and get plenty of rest for the next month as that likely how long I will continue to feel any early side effects of radiation and there is a slight chance my skin could still break down. Will have a check in with the rad onc in about five or six weeks.

Do any of you lovelies have any tips on how to deal with the aftermath of radiation treatment?
