Kiev 60 Broken Film Counter

Hello, I just got a Kiev 60, CLA'd and reworked by ARAX, everything seems to be working fine apart from the film counter not working, it's just stuck at 'H'. I was worried it wasn't feeding the film when I advanced on my test roll but I sacrificed some shots and opened the back to find everything advancing properly. Not a big deal about the frame counter since I can just keep track with notes but just want to make sure I'm counting properly. I know you're supposed to take 3 'shots' before reaching the first frame but is there a way to tell when the roll is completely done? After the 12th shot I kind of just kept taking shots until I felt it was fully done but not sure if there's an easier way to tell or if there's a certain number of 'shots' I should take before it's fully rolled up. I noticed the film lever got tighter when advancing but wasn't sure if that's how I could tell. Any info helps, thanks!
