Almost one year sober.
And this entire time I have not felt like I’ve missed out.
I’ve socialised and been around people drinking and did not envy them.
And yet, I’m worried that a relapse will sneak up on me. That because I do not crave it, and it does not factor in my life, I will think one night, well why not just have a glass of wine.
But I know that will be the bottle.
And I know it’ll take me even longer to get free.
I’m so happy in my sobriety, but I’m going through a rough time personally. I don’t actively think about drinking, or think drinking will help. But I find myself scared anyways.
I don’t know if anyone can relate to this. I used to be on this sub constantly, and I’ve been away from it awhile. It was genuinely a lifesaver for me in the beginning sober curious time, as well as in the first couple of months while my body and brain got readjusted to not being hijacked by neurotoxins all the time.
I’ve missed it, and the community from it.
Anyways, IWNDWYT.
