Why is there no good dessert places in Manchester city centre?

Other cities like Leeds and even towns have big dessert places like heavenly's, ice stone, and haute dolci right in their city/town centres, so why doesn't a big city like Manchester? There is some places in Manchester, but more on the outer ends of city centre. The only places right in the centre are rubbish, there's no good dedicated dessert places.
