Women who were diagnosed in their 30s - what did it? What did you think of yourself before?
Hi I’m 31F. I have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety/ocd. My therapist recently started talking to me about executive functioning disorder and so I started looking into it but most of the resources discussed it in relation to/resulting from ADHD.
Perhaps this is a cliché, but I never in a million years would have thought I could have ADHD because I wasn’t like the kids in school who were jumping all over the place, talking a mile a minute, or bouncing off the walls. But then I started seeing things about ADHD in women and specifically inattentive ADHD and….it hit more close to home. For example, I started writing this post, put my phone down, watched half a YouTube video about adhd in women and a couple of shorts, started a tv show, paused it and came back to writing this
Does this sound like anyone else’s experience? Am I just reaching for pattern recognition? Women who were diagnosed in your 30s, how did it feel? Did you think you were totally normal before?
