Retinol

I’m interested in using retinol to help smooth my skin and reduce pores, but I’ve read that it does make you more sensitive to the sun.

I’ve had stage 2 melanoma- would it be unsafe to use retinol? Do any of you all use it? I would also pair it with SPF, of course. I’m just well aware of the increased risk of getting melanoma again after having it, so I’m cautious of things that increase your sensitivity to the sun.

Of course, I’m going to ask my dermatologist also, I just won’t see her for a bit!
