Cobmat Related Special Compensation (CRSC) Book
Why I Wrote a book on CRSC: The Green Beret's Guide to Combat Related Special Compensation – A Book for Veterans, by a Veteran
Hey fellow veterans,
As a Green Beret with 29 years of service and multiple combat deployments, I’ve been through the grind—night raids, IED blasts, airborne ops, and the toll of injuries that come with the job. When I retired, navigating the Combat-Related Special Compensation (CRSC) process was a maze. The bureaucracy, the paperwork, the denials—it was frustrating, and I know many of you have faced the same.
That’s why I wrote CRSC: The Green Beret's Guide to Combat Related Special Compensation. This book is my way of helping you secure the tax-free benefits you’ve earned. It’s not just a guide—it’s the resource I wish I’d had. Here’s what drove me to put it together:
- To Simplify the Process: CRSC is a game-changer for retirees with combat-related disabilities, especially after the 2025 Soto v. United States ruling eliminated the 6-year limit on back pay. But the application process is complex. My book breaks down eligibility, combat codes (like AC, PH, SW), and how to file DD Form 2860 right the first time.
- To Share Insider Knowledge: As a Special Forces vet, I’ve included real-world examples from my own claims and those of my brothers-in-arms. Whether it’s documenting tinnitus from gunfire or injuries from high-risk ops, I show you how to prove “combat-related” with the right evidence.
- To Empower Veterans: Too many of us miss out on CRSC because of misinformation or giving up after a denial. This book gives you step-by-step strategies, appeal tips, and templates to maximize your benefits—potentially thousands in tax-free pay.
- To Honor Our Service: CRSC isn’t just money; it’s recognition of the sacrifices we made. I wrote this for every soldier, sailor, airman, Marine, Coast Guardsman, and Space Force member who’s earned it.
I wrote this book to help Veterans get the benefits they deserve!
