What should my humidity level be?

The last tech that came for regular maintenance was not good. Not going to get into detail. But anyway. We have had a ton of humidity this summer and all my friends don’t have an actual percentage on their display so I couldn’t compare with anyone to what theirs is.. mine is fluctuating between 57-64%, even though I have set its point to 40-50. Should it be that high? I don’t want to call in a tech if it’s just because of our unusually humid summer.
