2015 Tahoe lift gate won’t open
Ok so I have a 2015 Tahoe ltz. About 3 months ago the lift gate started acting funny it would open fine but when it would close it would not latch and then sometimes would not open just intermittently. Discovered the culprit was the lift gate latch and motor so we replaced it and it started working great. Fast forward to now all of a sudden it will not open at all the lights flash and the glass will open no problem but not the hatch. I think the latch went bad I got one off Amazon instead of being smart and replacing it with another oem one. According to YouTube on the inside of the liftgate there is a small notch where if you drill a hole it will allow access to an override to unlock it. It’s a square hole you put a flat screwdriver in and turn it and it will unlock the hatch. Well I did that and see the override but I can’t get it to turn and I feel like since it’s plastic I may break it if I get too rough with it. Has anyone ran into this before or had any advice on another way to get the hatch open. Thanks for your time.
