IMO, Dragon ball should have continued without Vegeta as second lead after Z.

I know almost whole fan base may disagree with it. But I think Vegeta's arc get great closer at Buu saga. Not only Vegeta. Gohan character arc get closer at Cell saga, Piccolo gets closer at Saiyan saga, so on with Tien etc.

I am not saying remove them totally from show. They should be side supporting characters or recurring characters. Like Piccolo and 18 was in Buu saga.

Other characters are mostly like that. But Vegeta is essentially a second lead for Dragon ball. His constant presence rob the charm of show. He is too serious a character for great charming duo combo.

Goku and Bulma + other, Goku and Krillin +, Gohan and Krillin , Even Goku, Trunks and Pan combo has great personality as group for show like Dragon ball.
