Is water and very diluted dawn dish soap fine to get little stains off my jacket?

Title. Just little stains. I sometimes take them off with a few drops of water but some are slightly more stubborn and I think the diluted dish soap would get a better clean. Also, how long should I wait after doing that to condition?
