Career change to therapist in my 30s?

Employment / Workplace Advice

Hey therapists! I’m currently a teacher looking for some advice. I’m in my 30s and I’m an elementary school teacher. I absolutely cannot do it anymore. We’re only 5 weeks in and my mental and physical health have taken a nose dive. I’ve finally decided it’s time to switch careers for good. I’ve always wanted to be a therapist, even when I first started college. I didn’t love my psych classes, so I eventually switched majors. However, with every career quiz I take and every reflection I do on my own, being a therapist is the only other job I’m interested in. I’m wondering, from a therapist’s point of view: is it worth it? If you were in my position, would you take the jump and switch careers? Thanks in advance :)
