Labubus are fine it's overconsumption that ruined them

Labubus are Stanley mugs all over again if you ask me. People are simply buying her to say they have her or for the blind box limited editions or to resell nowadays. And both are great, they've existed for a while, and they serve their purpose but you don't need 7 Stanleys for every day of the week or 10 Labubus for every shade in your closet. There is nothing the public should hold against the creature herself as she's just what the #1 consumerists decided to latch onto recently.

And for the price? I'd argue that she's an imported good (depending on where you live), non-essential, and, I don't mean this in a snobby way, but she's a piece of art. She's part of the picture book series "The Monsters" by Kasing Lung. I feel artists should charge whatever they want and need. Even if production is like 5% of what they cost, people who can afford them will buy them, and Kasing's able to profit. That's normally how selling art goes.
