Theory: Nice’s death wasn’t suicide, nor was it from X.
What if his death was neither suicide nor caused by X, but instead by the first catastrophic glitch in Trust that we’ve seen?
The removal of his armor, the change in time of day and the presence of Miss J and the guards all imply some time had passed between Nice’s initial breakdown and the time of his death. So it likely wasn’t X that transported Nice since Miss J was seemingly concerned about Nice’s state, implying he had be acting out in some way beforehand. It was just that Nice that was so disoriented he couldn’t recall how he ended up on the building. That level of disorientation, plus the potential scream from Nice when he fell, also makes it less likely that he actually intended to kill himself
My pitch for what potentially happened is that upon receiving the final emotional blow from Shand, Nice was no longer capable of reconciling the gap between his Trust image and his true self and began subconsciously rejecting both “Perfect Nice” and “Real Nice”. He could no longer identify with “Perfect Nice” due to being so flawed, but he couldn’t identify with “Real Nice” either due to having rejected it for so much of his life. However, as actual Nice, he was also simultaneously too tied to both versions of “Nice” to successfully reject either of these images like Lin Ling did. As a consequence of the collapse of his identity and inability to establish a new one, the Trust entity “Nice” began breaking apart, causing the complete disorientation and glitching screens we see shortly before his death. I think Nice’s “suicide” may have been him defaulting to act as “Hero Nice” while his powers were uncontrollably fluctuating due to his identity crisis.
