Finally a few moments of relief

success story

I've had this tinnitus for 11 years. It's gotten worse over the years and multiple ENTs haven't been able to help. I've tried everything people have suggested over the years but there hasnt been any relief.

I prayed and prayed and tried to keep faith and that helped me accept that I had this ringing in my ears and that life can move on. After this I had some "moments of clear thought"

I've realized that I clench my jaw at all times and I've tried to be more mindful of relaxing the muscles in my jaw and around my ears, which helped a little bit

I noticed that when I smoked weed the ringing got worse or more pronounced so I quit smoking weed and that has helped a lot.

I listen to thunderstorms in my ear buds when it flares up and it helps me not think about it as much.

And the last thing I've done recently that helped "smooth" the ringing was wearing hearing aids. They help me hear through the ringing and help me focus on what I'm doing.

All this has led to maybe 15-30 seconds of complete silence a couple of times over the past couple of days. It's not much, but it's something. I'm hoping that these moments are indicative that healing is possible. In 11 years I haven't had one single moment of silence until now. I'm posting this not to brag or anything like that, but in the hopes that it may help some of you too. Those few seconds were amazing and I'm holding faith that one day I can wake up and spend a day at peace.

Best of luck to you all, please let me know if there's anything that you have done to help relief this ringing as well. I'm all ears for any tips or tricks
