Issues with moving money. In underwriting now.
I made an error by not moving all funds before making the offer. The bank also knew my assets were in another country, and didn't tell me to move all funds before making an offer.
I have 350K in liquid assets that can be moved right away to US. Another 350K is locked in and will require paying penalty to get the funds early. I need to be able to move 400K to the US bank.
I already gave all my international checking and investment accounts to the US bank, and provided 3 years of statements to prove the money is mine and it's legit.
Having said that, I am still short 50K in liquid assets. Should I:
- Pay a penalty to cash locked in investments early. (I need to find out if it's possible and the cost).
- Borrow money from siblings and pay them back when the locked in investment can be cashed without penalty
- Decrease the loan amount to 350K instead of 400K, so I could skip #1 and #2?
Closing is on Sept 30. Thank you.
