The next big thing we need - Persistence between patches

DISCUSSION

The game has come a long way this year. Elevators kill us rarely now. Passengers falling out of ships in quantum only happens a few times a session instead of most jumps. The servers are more stable, and we can actually fix a broken hangar cargo lift by using alt-f4. Etc. I still somehow end up inside the hull each time I am in a Polaris, but that can be worked around.

Many major improvements.

One of the bigger remaining hurdles to feeling like an ongoing world is the mini-wipes and resets with each patch. Between losing gear and ships, having stored equipment moved to your home hangar, and having to remake our characters, each patch is a reminder that the game is very far from finished.

On the one hand, I love being able to just dump loot where ever I am and having it back at my home at the next patch. On the other hand, we need patches to generally feel seamless.

When our game experience doesn't get reset on a patch, we will be much closer to having our living universe.
